Best Gift of Raksha Bandhan

Best Gift of Raksha Bandhan

India is a male dominated society. Boys are always given priority over girls, and they enjoy a dominant position.  Many girls face restrictions in their everyday life, their lives decisions usually depends on their fathers and brothers. And if they do against them, they are termed as traitors of the family. Their choice of clothes, friends and husband, all depends on their family. They may be equally competent with the boys, or maybe even better, but their opinions do not matter.

Still in 21st century, many educated families prefer boy over girl child. We can only change this thinking if we realise girls are the most beautiful gifts of god. Lucky are those parents who are blessed with this gift.

We should respect all the girls around us. They deserve this respect from us. On this occasion of Raksha Bandhan, we should truly do her Raksha , instead of showering her with expensive gifts, perfumes, chocolates which would make them happy for a day, or maximum, a month, we should treat her equally. This can be the best gift of Raksha Bandhan, which any brother will give to her sister.

Future of our new generation

Future of our new generation

Few days back, while going for a movie, I stopped at a signal. I saw a little girl was begging from all cars, she came running towards me, for money. I refused her to give anything, but she banged my car mirrors roughly. I was annoyed, but kept calm. I opened my car mirrors and asked her name. She didn’t reply, and repeated her sentence for money. I asked whether she goes to school, but she ran away to other cars. Light turned green and cars started moving. I saw how a car was about to bump into that girl. She hurriedly rushed and went to her other friends.

Her parents were right there, stopping other cars, least bothered about their child. The girl was hardly seven to eight years old, she had innocence in her eyes, but her upbringing made her very strong. She didn’t fear in banging car mirrors, she was not concerned about her life, she just wanted some money. I wonder what the future of this kid was. In age of playing with dolls, she was playing with her own life.

This is not the only instance; while going for our offices, colleges, malls, movies; we all come through hundreds of these kids every day.  They don’t have proper education, nor do they have basic amenities in life. They don’t understand what is right for them. These all things open them up to criminal activities. They have always lived a fearless life, from childhood, they don’t fear losing their own life, and easy money ideas lure them easily into crime world.

I wonder what we educated people can do for them. If we follow the concept of Each One, Teach One, we may change their lives for betterment. Our policies and inspirations can turn them into a better human being. I am following this concept by helping some needy children, are you doing the same?

THIRD PARTY FOR MEETING GOD

There are many spiritual leaders who show us the right path and clear our mind doubts. But, there are many self proclaimed God men, who really don’t inspire us. In everyday news channels, we find out the truth behind their spirituality, but we still follow them blindly. Some of them even have criminal records, but, we have a blind faith in them. I have seen my own very close people doing business deals based on predictions by astrologers, still getting losses. We all devote a portion of our hard earned money in their boxes, it’s only after the scandals we see in news, we realise the truth behind them.

God is inside it, we need to find him. We can’t rely on anyone else to make us meet God. Our Karma, and our actions make or break our faith. If our actions are justified, and we have a faith in him, we don’t need to run to several doors. We can find god in every one we meet and also in ourselves. If we follow the right path, we don’t need any person to answer our questions.

No doubt, there are few spiritual leaders, who really guide us to the right path. We need to stop follow anyone blindly and take sensible decisions before worshipping anyone. We should try to make our direct connection with god; this can be done by helping needy people, and that satisfaction will bring us closer to god. And once we realise, we have God in us, the journey of life will become beautiful and easy.

So we need to think, do we really need these third parties to make our connection with Gods?  Or we need to find God within us? Think about it.

SELFIE LOVE

We all click hundreds of selfies every day, pout selfie, duck face selfie, I am in a car selfie, animal lover selfie and so on, to find that one beautiful picture. We all love to see our variations in selfies. We adore ourselves in those moments. All thanks to increasing megapixels of cameras, we find more and more clarity in our selfies. Gone are those days, when rear camera was in fashion, now front camera has taken it all. We even have make up pro apps where we can change our look for selfies.

But, do we really admire ourselves that much? Why do we always find flaws in us? We always find someone else more perfect than us. I think we should start loving our looks more. It’s our confidence which makes us, and we should always carry it with ourselves. And we should recognise this beautiful world, which is not made up of makeup; instead it’s more real and natural. We should equally focus on our talent, and believe we are beautiful.

If we love ourselves to the core, and admire our looks, people will fall in love with us, and each selfie will itself become a beautiful one.

SKINNY OR HEALTHY

Travelling in flights gives me an entirely new experience. When I look at the skinny Air Hostesses, I start panicking and blaming myself for being not so skinny. In the moment of panic, I start observing the other female passengers, and my smile comes back to me. There is no such protocol that only slim people can travel in Airplanes. So, why is this compulsion for Air Hostesses to have a required height and maintain a particular weight? Aren’t they meant to do more important jobs, other than maintaining this weight? And, why is our India always obsessed with skinny Air hostesses? We have international airlines, which concentrates more on healthy air hostesses, instead of being skinny. They do their work very efficiently, and are not bothered about particular weight every time. Recently I had a conversation with an air hostess friend, regarding this issue, and she told me there is constant pressure for being glamorous. Is glamour synonym with skinny?

We have healthy girls in other fields too. Actresses like Sonakshi Sinha and Vidhya Balan are not skinny, but their acting speaks for them. Isn’t efficiency the important protocol for any job? And how can skinny be associated with being fit or healthy? When I hear airlines firing air hostesses for not maintain the particular weight, I feel distressed.
These girls not only serve passengers, but they perform much more important work regarding safety of passengers. In past, we had air hostess like Nirja Bhanot, who sacrificed her own life for saving passengers. It’s not their weight which makes them more or less active, it’s their work. This fad only creates pressure. Not only on air hostesses, but it even creates benchmarks for other girls. These passengers start comparing themselves with them and follow the skinny concept.

I believe, this pressure should be lowered. Being healthy is very important, but it should not be confused with being skinny. Plus, our airlines should understand this concept. Focus should be on creating efficient girls, not on skinny dolls. These girls are very inspiring for others. Their work should be the guideline to judge them, not their body. This is 21st century, and we should come out of this concept of skinny.
